What is a poem is when no one can hear it? Audience is such an important part of my craft as a poet. I rely on audience to add to my poems, support my poems, and spread my poems. Although I don’t read in public often, when I do, I love the feeling of connecting to an audience through my words and delivery. It feels very much like performing my music in public. One can feel the audience’s reactions, body language, and countenances as poems are read and that helps inform my writing, as well as confirm my writing.
